Xinjiang Medical University was established in the year 1956 by the merger of Xinjiang Medical University College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Xinjiang Medical College. It is situated in Urumqi formerly renowned as Tihwa which is the capital of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China.
